GMC warranty and service plans

GMCs are widely known for their quality, reliability, and dependability. They also offer a comprehensive range of warranties that protect every new car against the unlikely event of a labor or manufacturing issue. As your GMC dealer, we want to tell you more about the 2024 GMC warranty and the protection it provides to you and your vehicle.

From Your GMC Dealer: Understanding Your 2024 GMC Warranty

Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty

Almost every component and system in your GMC is covered by this warranty. The only exceptions are components that are covered by one of the other warranties listed below. Coverage applies for three years or 36,000 miles and will cover the cost of parts and labor if any issue under this warranty needs to be rectified.

This warranty also covers your tires against any manufacturing defect, and tire coverage extends for the length of the warranty. Towing is provided for free to an authorized dealer if your GMC needs a repair covered by the warranty. There are certain exclusions listed in the warranty booklet, and these include the cost of general maintenance and any damage caused by unauthorized repairs or the use of unauthorized parts.

Powertrain Limited Warranty

The powertrain consists of all the components that enable your GMC to move. These include your engine, transmission, and drivetrain. If your vehicle has a transaxle and transfer case, its components are also protected by this warranty. Coverage duration is five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Corrosion Protection

Your GMC is protected against any form of corrosion due to a manufacturing issue. Any affected body or sheet metal sections will be replaced at no cost. This protection applies for the first three years or 36,000 miles.

Rust-Through Protection

A GMC is protected against rust due to specialized treatments applied at the factory. These treatments don’t need to be reapplied. In the unlikely event of rust-through, defined as a hole that extends through the metal to form a hole, the affected metal section will be replaced. This type of protection applies for six years or 100,000 miles.

California Emission Control System Warranty

California’s emissions standards are even more stringent than Federal standards, and the California standards also apply here in Washington. The Emissions system is responsible for converting toxic chemicals produced by combustion into harmless ones before they exit the tailpipe. Most emissions system components are protected against any defect for three years or 50,000 miles.

Your catalytic converter, engine control unit, transmission control unit, and several other components are protected for seven years or 70,000 miles. All components with extended protection are listed in the warranty booklet.
